Job Purpose:

The role of the Assistant Project Manager is to assist with the planning, execution and finalization of IT-related projects according to strict deadlines. This includes researching and preparing documentation, drafting and executing test plans, and serving as analyst to support project management efforts. The Assistant Project Manager will also directly manage and oversee the development of small- to mid-size IT applications and ancillary project.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in establishing project scope, goals and deliverables and developing project plans and timelines.

  • Directly manage and oversee small- to mid-size IT application and ancillary project development.

  • Plan, design, research, write and edit a range of documents, including user guides and manuals, technical specifications, test plans, training materials, user policies and proposals.

  • Liaise with multiple departments, including IT and business systems, to identify and define business procedures and establish documentation needs.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and IT staff to collect and interpret technical information.

  • Establish, communicate and maintain documentation standards, and provide training where required.

  • Perform and coordinate testing with other departments, Analyze testing issues for accurate reporting.

  • Strong understanding of document formatting and presentation techniques.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport building, listening and interviewing skills.

  • Assist Project Manager when and where required

  • Compile all project related minutes and monitor project on behalf of project manager.

Core Competencies:

  • Core Banking Application Domain Knowledge and Hands on Experience of Development and Databases

  • Ability to anticipate problems and proactively take measures to control or minimize them

  • Aggressive learner; intense appetite for detail, ability to handle multiple projects¬†within time period and multiple stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Proven working experience for project management, data migration, integrations, architectural skills, core banking administration in core banking domain.

  • Good written and oral communication skills. Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment, Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.¬†

Technical Training:

  • PMP is a plus
