Unit Head - Market Risk

  1. Monitor compliance with all the policies of SBP as well as FINCA International related to treasury functions.
  2. Independent observer in ALCO and support senior management for independent risk analysis of ALCO agenda.
  3. Monitor Market changes and its impact on FINCA portfolio and market.
  4. Verification of mark to market rates used for all portfolios monitoring compliance with tolerance limits.
  5. Prepare Monthly Liquidity and Stress testing report.
  6. Assist in preparing Reports for Monthly ALCO meeting.
  7. Prepare Reports for deposit maturities, concentration and tagging.
  8. Calculate Value at Risk (VaR) for various areas of risk and its validation (back testing).
  9. Support in determining Market Risk appetite of the bank and its subsequent monitoring and reporting.
  10. Prepare forecasts (simulations) showing the effects of various possible changes in market conditions related to risk exposures.
  11. Daily sign-off of key risk metrics including default exposure and market value.
  12. Frequent discussion with trading desk on risk taking, market color, regulatory environment and limit framework.
  13. (Co)develop credit strategies for key names.
  14. Design, build and improve position risk reports to enhance business risk return profile.
  15. Contribute to policy and process update and development.
  16. Understanding the markets, particularly liquidity and ability to distribute risk.
  17. Liaising with Finance and Regulatory Capital Management to establish the operating and control procedure for market risk regulatory reporting.
  18. Provide proactive risk management coaching/ mentoring/ training for staff at all levels in the organization. Developing professional capability of Risk Management staff through on-the-job training and staff training programs.
  19. Liaise with Internal Audit, Compliance and Treasury & other business units in order to ensure that reviews and assessments are carried out with risk in mind, and to avoid duplication of work. Ensure to arrange RMC meetings, preparation of agenda and assuring implementation of RMC decisions.
  20. Produce and supervise regularly scheduled (monthly, quarterly, etc.) management reports for Senior Management, Regulators and other key Stakeholders related to Credit, Market & Operational Risks. Analyze and validate output for accuracy and identify/correct deficiencies as warranted.
  21. Perform any other duty as assigned.
